My Story

Hey y'all!  My name is Kristina.  I am a 30-something single mom from the land of Bill Clinton and the Razorbacks (Woo Pig!).  If you happen to live under a rock or don't care for politics or sports...I'm from Arkansas.  I was born here and have lived here my whole life.  - Insert a huge sarcastic "yay" -

I love to read...but I love to write even more.

I love to travel.  I've been to several places outside the country.  The ruins of Pompeii are my favorite place in the whole world.  I have made a caribou promise to P that I will take her to see the world someday.

I have an obsession with office supplies.  Pens, paper, staplers, folders, etc.  You get the idea.  Along with that, I have a personal problem with organization.  I HAVE to be organized.  Fo real!  Everything has a place.  It's bad y'all.

I am a list maker.  And I have passed that on to P.  She has books where she has been making lists.  Seriously.  She's 5.

Speaking of P...she's my kid.  She was born in 2008.  Before she entered the world, she had decided that it was her world and we were all here for her pleasure (or displeasure, as is my case most days).  She is my little monkey...my brilliant, beautiful, larger than life "mini me."

I fell into the new mom trap after P was born.  My WHOLE life revolved around her.  I fell by the wayside.  I allowed myself to get lost and gain weight (oh the HORROR!!).  It took me a while, but I realized that a happy mom makes a happy house.  Because of my Oprah-esque "AHA" moment, I've begun to change myself and my life.  I am still in the process of deciding who I want to be in this stage of my life.  I have the opportunity to document that journey here.

There are also two little fur-babies who've stolen our hearts.  Graye came first.  She's crazy (literally) but extremely beautiful.  She eats plastic, climbs door frames, watches only certain shows on tv (Ghost Adventures, Firefly, Team Umizoomi), begs me for bath water, and plays chase with P.  Seriously, she's nuts.  Remy is almost her exact opposite.  He's our Maine Coon baby.  He's ginormous already.  He's sweet and timid.  He sleeps on his back and is learning to play fetch.  Okay, so maybe everyone in my house is nuts.  Not shocking!

So that is the long version of my short story.

My life is pretty busy right now.  But I wouldn’t change it for anything.  If my days were calm and quiet, I don’t think I would know what to do with myself.

Happy Reading!!
And thanks for stopping in!!
